What is MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)?

MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is a full-contact martial art with several styles and techniques. Some styles that fall under MMA include boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Thai boxing, kickboxing, and wrestling. The techniques you can use include hand strikes, kicks, knees and elbowing from standing positions, as well as a variety of throws, takedowns, chokeholds and joint locks from the ground. You practice MMA in a confined space such as a ring or cage.

The sport has reformed and modified many of the techniques from other styles and made them its own, but a lot of special techniques have also been developed in and for MMA.
